Dunsborough's Shark Park had an electric atmosphere on Sunday June 11th 2023 when ex-Docker superstar David Mundy came to play for our SWFL League team to promote the SWFL's Think Mental Health round.

Over 1300 adult spectators passed through the gates, and probably another 1000 kids, to watch the Dunsborough Sharks take on the Eaton Football Club.

The day kicked off with the Dunsborough Sharks Colts defeating Eaton 6.11.47 to 3.7.25, Carson Webster receiving the match ball for best on ground. The Reserves followed and secured another win for the Sharks 8.9.57 defeated Eaton 7.3.45, with Mac Richardson receiving best on ground. The Women's match was always going to be a close one between 5th and 6th on the ladder and it did not disappoint with the Sharks losing by a mere 2 points - 2.5.17 to 3.1.19. Sharks player Olivia Caldow received the match day ball for best on ground.

By the time the League game got underway at 3pm the atmosphere had built and our footy loving community had come out in force to cheer on our League team. The crowd didn't have to wait long to see some Mundy brilliance when he kicked one of the first goals of the match for the Sharks and received a massive cheer from the crowd. The Sharks League team went on to win the tightly fought and low scoring game 8.7.55 to 4.8.32, with Cal Foster taking home the 'Think Mental Health round' match day ball for best on ground.

Match Centre

Dunsborough 2.1.13 3.3.21 5.3.33 8.7.55

Eaton 0.2.2 1.2.8 3.5.23 4.8.32

It was a wonderful day for the Dunsborough Football Club, one that saw the young, old and everything in between enjoying a fabulous day out. Mundy was incredibly obliging and spent a lot of time signing autographs and taking photos with his many local fans. We hope to one day have him back playing for the Sharks again!
